1. TASK: Requirements of the brief
Brief: You're tasked with making a level of Pitfall
What do you need to consider?
- I need to consider whether I am coding the game, am I making the assets, I need to research the game to get an understanding of it, who my target audience are.
How is an interactive project different than an audio-visual project?
- With an interactive project, you can feel more part of it as you can control what happens in the game more. What research do you need to do?
- I need to research:
The gameplay/controls/obstacles/level design, coding, characters, software, style/genre, sound effects.
2. TASK: Research
I studied the game Pitfall and discovered that the controls are to use the space bar and arrows on the keyboard. The game is very basic as all you do is run forward and jump over obstacles that are in your way.
